At the heart of our operations is a leader who brings a steady hand, a servant’s heart, and a bold vision for the future: Jeremiah Byerly, COO, Chief Operating Officer, of Brannon Industrial Group. With over two decades of experience in operations, Jeremiah’s journey to BIG is rooted in personal growth, professional excellence, and a deep desire to empower others.
A Foundation Built on Experience and Relationships
Can you share a bit about your professional background and how it led you to Brannon Industrial Group?
"I have been in operations for over 20 years and have been through some significant changes and challenges during that time. Any of those challenges are learning opportunities, which have prepared me for things that were on the horizon but I was not even aware of at the time. My goal and passion are to help those around me succeed and discover within themselves things they didn’t even know existed.
I was once a customer of BIG, starting in 2018, and maintained a good relationship with them over the years. We shared the same passion and values of helping others and building long-lasting relationships. This attitude and dedication to excellence are what led me to pursue the opportunity with BIG."
What past experiences have helped shape your leadership style today?
"I have been blessed to have strong leaders around me to help me develop and grow to be the person I am today. Seeing them willing to dive in and help during difficult times showed me what real leadership was."
Leading with Integrity and Purpose
What do you see as the most essential part of your role at BIG?
"This role comes with a lot of responsibility, and it’s something that I do not take lightly. We have over 200 employees within our organization, which means there are over 200 families that are counting on us as leaders to make the right decisions every day. Creating an environment with strong trust and communication is extremely important so we can better understand our employees' and customers' needs."
How would you describe your leadership style?
"I have always led with a servant leadership mindset. I will never ask someone to do something I am not willing to do myself or have done in the past. Having engagement and buy-in from all leaders is crucial in making a difference."
What values are most important to you as a leader?
"Integrity is the most important value that I cling to."
BIG Vision, Bright Future
What excites you most about the future of BIG?
"The most exciting thing about our future is finding out ‘What’s Possible?’. Challenging ourselves each day to make an even better tomorrow is truly exciting and rewarding."
Who has been the most significant influence on your leadership journey?
"My wife’s Grandfather, Bob Leroy, had the biggest influence on me. He was not only a mentor to me but also very much like a father and friend. He helped me in many ways over the years by listening to the things I was going through and providing encouragement, as well as his valuable insight. He was always interested in what was going on in my professional life and would always let me know he was proud of me. The only way I can repay him is to honor him by continuing to push myself to be the best version of myself I can be and sharing the many things he taught me with others along the way."
Life Beyond the Office
What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?
"I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife and our two incredible girls. Being there for them is one of the most important things I can do. I also enjoy playing golf whenever I can."
